Healing through God’s Provision

Over the years, especially while at church, Kathy and I have heard people of many ages announce that their doctors have said they have this or that terminal or crippling disease or express, in general conversation, how they suffer from various different ailments. Though some few people do, I find most people do not want to have to tell everyone about these afflictions, but they become desperate and need help. Our heart has gone out to people who suffer these things, but not just for sympathy sake.

Time has given us knowledge through people, books, and various forms of informational sources, and this from God, that has helped us to have insite into how the body can use pure, natural foods and herbs as a replacment for what is conventionally provided in our society. Many, if not all, of these blessings come from mention in Scripture and have been provided for those people who have a willing heart to listen to what God is telling them. God knowledge is essential to good health and life (Hosea 4:6).

Our bodies are mysterious even today and that is why you still hear it expressed that physicians are “practicing medicine.” When the body reacts to what is usually our lack of knowledge about how to take care of it, we run to the doctor who diagnoses what seem to be the symptoms/reactions, takes an educated guess at what the problem might be, looks at or remembers what his Physician’s Desk Reference (PDR) says are the pharmaceutically manufactured medicines for those particular symptoms/reactions, and writes out a prescription for our local pharmacy.

Some manufactured medicines merely cover up or block the symptoms/reactions to the source of the problem about which our body is trying to warn us. These make our headache not hurt any more, or temporarily ease the pain from our arthritis, but they allow the source of the ailment to increase without really being dealt with/cured. Ailments and diseases treated in this manner lead to recurring problems that some patients have to live with for years. There are also manufactured medicines that treat the cause or the root, but these often have devastating residual side effects. An example of this is antibiotics, which are supposedly effective against the germ. The problem with using antibiotics, which doctors are quick to do, is that they cannot be isolated to the bad germ but are known to also kill good germs and bacteria that are effective in fighting disease in our body. I liken this to setting off an indoor sprinkler system to put out a small trash fire in an office, or perhaps, shooting a cannon to kill a fly on the wall.

The overall problem with manufactured parmaceutical* drugs is that man has made them without God. They are imitation and cannot replace what God has made. God made our body and has also provided the means to its health and cure. It is only when man intervenes and tries to take over God’s jurisdiction that disease is allowed to carry on for prolonged periods of time, as seen in Luke 8:43-44 : “…a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, came behind Him, and touched the border of His garment and immediately her issue of blood stanched.”

Today, through fear more than anything else, the sick and diseased put more faith in human physicians than they do in God, who is the One Who created their bodies. God is the Great Physician, and we have His Word (both spiritually and physically). This site has been established to demonstrate God’s great wisdom and provision for healing the flesh. You will equally acquire information about the spiritual aspects of health and healing. If you really want to be healed of what ails you, read through the resources of this site and discover ways in which you can do this in “God’s provision.”

*Revelation 18:23 “…for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.”

Were the princes of the earth (ēsan hoi megistānes tēs gēs). For megistān see Rev 6:15; Mark 6:21. “Thy merchants were the grandees” once, but now these merchant princes are gone.
With thy sorcery (en tēi pharmakiāi sou). En (instrumental use) and the locative case of pharmakia, old word (from pharmakeuō, to prepare drugs, from pharmakon, sorcery, Rev 9:21), in N.T. only here and Gal 5:20 for sorcery and magical arts. If one is puzzled over the connection between medicine and sorcery as illustrated by this word (our word pharmacy), he has only to recall quackery today in medicine (patent medicines and cure-alls), witch-doctors, professional faith-healers, medicine-men in Africa. True medical science has had a hard fight to shake off chicanery and charlatanry.
Were deceived (eplanēthēsan). First aorist passive indicative of planaō. These charlatans always find plenty of victims. See Mark 12:24.

In the Greek Dictionary:

Pharmakeia means pharmacy and by extension magic (literally sorcery, witchcraft).

Pharmakon means druggist or pharmacist or poisoner and by extension magician or sorcerer.

Pharmakos means sorcerer.
